It’s been a little over a couple weeks since the 2016 Bridgestone Winter Classic, and although most Bruins fans have looked to forget the rather embarrassing performance against the Montreal Canadiens, nobody can forget the tragic injury Boston Pride’s player Denna Laing has suffered.
Laing suffered the injury in the outdoors game, which was played before the Winter Classic. Laing struck the boards, which resulted in a severe spinal cord injury, as well as limited movement in her arms, and no movement in her legs.
Laing is being treated at Massachusetts General Hospital.
After learning about the extent of Laing’s injuries, fans and teams from across the nation have done an incredible job at raising money and support Laing in these rather hard times. Even celebrities – most notably Boston-born actor and musician Mark Wahlberg, who sent out this tweet below.

Additionally, the TD Garden and the family of Jeremy Jacobs have donated ‘at minimum’ $200,000.
Jacobs isn’t the only one donating money from the Bruins organization, as Bruins assistant captain Patrice Bergeron is raffling his personal suite to the public for January 26th’s game against the Anaheim Ducks, as well as a personal meet and greet after the game. All proceeds from the raffle will go to the Denna Laing fund. Click here to go to Patrice Bergeron’s raffle!
We at BruinsDiehards.com send our best wished to Denna Laing, her friends and family, and all those who have been affected by this. We will continue to inform fans on her status, however we also want to respect the privacy of Laing and her family.
