The Bruins and Canadiens will both wear their Winter Classic sweaters tonight as they square off in their regular season finale, but not just to look stylish. Following the game, players from both teams will autograph their game-worn jerseys and auction them off to raise money for the Denna Laing Fund.
Donna Laing is a member of the Boston Pride who suffered a spinal injury after falling into the boards during the first ever Women’s Winter Classic at Gillette Stadium on December 31. Laing has received tons of support from the hockey community, including the Bruins organization, Patrice Bergeron, Jimmy Hayes, and many more.
The Habs are our most hated rivals, and that will never change, but there is no denying the class that their organization possesses. This is a top shelf move by two of hockey’s most historic franchises.
If you do not want to participate in the auction, but would like to donate/show support for Denna and her family, head over to her Facebook page: https://www.facebook.com/The-Denna-Laing-Team-1100451139988401/?fref=ts
