After being pulled from a game and hospitalized for increased heart rate on January 26, Jonas Gustavsson has been placed on injured reserve. 22-year-old net minder Malcolm Subban has been recalled from Providence to replace him.
The official announcement is yet to be made, but the changes have already been made to the Bruins’ roster on the team website.
After earning a contract through a professional tryout, Gus has been a solid backup to Tuukka Rask this season, and has posted a 9-3-1 record, with a 2.38 GAA, and .915 save percentage.
Subban has put up decent numbers in his third season with the P-Bruins, recording a 14-8-4 record, with a 2.45 GAA, and a .913 save percentage.
After a sluggish start, his numbers have been improving drastically, as he is 8-0-1 in his last nine games, with a 1.84 GAA and .935 save percentage in the month of January.
