Brad Marchand Named Third Star of the Week

The NHL named Brad Marchand the league’s third star of the week on Monday afternoon, adding yet another accolade to his recent collection.

He finished behind Pavel Datsyuk and Henrik Lundqvist, who each had dominant weeks of their own.

Marchy registered seven points in four games over the past week, with 4-3–7 totals. He has been on an absolute tear lately, and has scored 13 goals in his past 13 games. This impressive streak has put Marchand in elite company, as Cam Neely was the last Bruin to score goals in 12 of 13 games back in 1993-1994, when he totaled 16 goals in 12 games (per Elias Sports)

The Nose Face Killah also set the record for the fastest goal to start a game in Bruins history, when he tallied just eight seconds into Sunday’s matchup against the Red Wings.

The pesky winger has racked up 28 goals this season, matching his career high from 2011-2012, and putting him at fifth overall in the NHL. I think he has a solid grasp on this hockey thing.
