Krug, Spooner In The Line-Up Against Blue Jackets

Boston Bruins fans received good news earlier this afternoon, as it was announced that both Ryan Spooner and Torey Krug are healthy and in the line-up against the Columbus Blue Jackets tonight.

Spooner was a scratch on Saturday night after missing the Bruins pre-game practice due to “feeling under the weather”. It’s good to get Spooner back and healthy, but lets just hope he’s 100% recovered and won’t give his illness to anyone else in the locker room (that is if it is a contagious illness).

It’s even better news that Torey Krug is healthy, considering the circumstance that lead Bruins fans to believe he may be out long-term.

On Saturday night, towards the very end of a 7-3 win over the Dallas Stars, Krug was tossed to the ice by Stars’ defenseman Jason Demers.

Based on the GIF above, many people, including myself, jumped to the conclusion that Krug may have suffered from a shoulder injury – perhaps a dislocation. Beyond the GIF, Krug was is obvious pain, squirming on the ice holding his arm, suggesting it was his arm/shoulder that was injured.

But in retrospect, Bruins head coach Claude Julien suggested that Krug may have gotten the butt end of Demers stick shoved into his ribs. Regardless, it was a worrisome situation, as the Bruins need all of the defensive help they can get right now.

The Bruins will take on the Blue Jackets tonight at the TD Garden. Puck drops at 7:00PM.
