AHL’s Leading Scorer Frank Vatrano Recalled from Providence

It’s about time!

Frank Vatrano, a.k.a. the AHL’s leading goal scorer, a.k.a. the birthday boy (turned 22 today) has been recalled on emergency basis by the Bruins as they head to San Jose to kick off their California road trip.

The East Longmeadow, Massachusetts native has scored 31 goals in 31 games this season in Providence. Those astronomical numbers put him four ahead of Mike Sislo, the second-highest scorer, who has played in 23 more games. It’s safe to say that this kid can put the puck in the net.

Vatrano has also skated in 30 NHL games this season, with 6-1–7 totals, which included a goal in his first game (against the Habs, no less), an OT winner in Detroit and a hat trick against the Penguins.

It is unclear whether he will be in the lineup on Tuesday, but for now, let’s relive those incredible moments from his first stint in the show.

Frankie V is back.
