The Bruins Have Fired…Doug Houda?

It was announced today that the Boston Bruins have relieved a coach from their duties – and his name is NOT Claude Julien.

After a week of fans speculating that Julien would be fired, it simply didn’t happen. He’ll be back in the 2016-2017 season, but another coach won’t.

Bruins assistant coach Doug Houda (the guy you often see being interviewed during the 2nd intermission), has been fired.

Houda was an assistant coach for the Bruins for nearly 10 years. He was the assistant coach when the Bruins won the Stanley Cup in 2011, and his name will forever be linked to the Bruins organization as it has been engraved in the Stanley Cup. For that, we thank Doug Houda for all that he’s done for the Bruins organization – and furthermore, wish him the best of luck in whatever he does next.
