2021 NWHL Draft Prospect Profile: Veronika Pettey

After starting her collegiate career extremely strong, Petty regressed offensively the past two years as she fell further down an absolutely stacked Huskies lineup. There was a large enough dip in offensive production to be concerned, but her defensive value also appears to have dropped, seeing her CF% Relative dropping from 5.28 to 3.11 between her sophomore and junior seasons.. Still respectable numbers, but it is worrisome to see a player dip both offensively and defensively. She was a key player for the Huskies as a freshman and sophomore, however, and I think she still has enough talent to be effective in a middle six role, albeit not one where I’d want to rely on her play-driving ability. She finished her Northeastern career with 39 goals and 50 assists for 89 points in 140 career games.
