On Leap Day 2020, the Boston Bruins shut out the New York Islanders, 4-0.

Veteran goalie Tuukka Rask made the start and logged shut out number 49 to add to his stats. The Finn was drafted 21st overall in 2005 by the Toronto Maple Leafs. Rask has had an incredibly successful career winning a Stanley Cup in 2011 and a Vezina Trophy in 2014. This past season has been one of Rask's best seasons yet with 37 starts, 23 wins, seven losses and six overtime losses. Rask's save percentage is .926%. This shut out is his fourth of the season.

Charlie McAvoy has had quite a tough season. His first goal did not come until the New Year. An eight month dry spell was incredibly tough for the defenseman who was resigned in 2019 for three years on a $14.7 million deal. His playing this season was frustrating for the team and fans to watch as the young player was so promising when drafted 14th overall in 2016. Today, he was able to sneak one past Islanders goaltender Seymon Varlamov.
