Boston Bruins: Pastrnak, Marchand & Charlie McAvoy Undergo Surgery
Today, the Boston Bruins announced that David Pastrnak, Brad Marchand, and Charlie McAvoy each had offseason surgeries.
Pastrnak underwent a right hip arthroscopy and labral repair on Sept. 16. The surgery was a success and he is currently in the process of rehabilitation with no issues. He is expected to make a full recovery in about five months from the date of the surgery.
Marchand underwent a sports hernia repair on Sept. 14. He is expected to make a full recovery roughly four months from the date of the procedure.
McAvoy underwent a right knee arthroscopy on Sept. 8. He's been cleared to participate in normal activities, and he will be able to start next season on time.
The NHL is anticipating a start to its next season on Jan. 1, 2021. If this start date is accurate, both Pastrnak and Marchand will miss the beginning of the season.
Without Pastrnak or Marchand, the top line could potentially consist of Bjork-Bergeron-Kase.

Bruins fans certainly do not want to see these three big names miss any playing time. Pastrnak was tied for the most goals in the league with 48 last season. His linemate, Marchand, had 28 goals and 59 assists last season. McAvoy is one of the Bruins top defensemen, usually playing alongside captain Zdeno Chara. Here's to hoping these notable players get well soon.
