Pride General Manager Karilyn Pilch Announces Departure
After two successful seasons with the Boston Pride, General Manager Karilyn Pilch is leaving the organization for a scouting position with the NHL’s Chicago Blackhawks.
Pilch’s two seasons with the team were extremely successful for the Boston Pride, leading them to a 23-1 record and a finals appearance in her first year, followed by an Isobel Cup Championship in her second year. During her tenure, she signed star players such as Lovisa Selander, Christina Putigna, and Sammy Davis to help Boston compete as a top team in the league. Pilch also signed every one of Boston’s 2020 NWHL draft picks, which had not been accomplished in team history before.
Head Coach Paul Mara was quoted in the Pride’s official statement, saying the following about Pilch’s impact; “She has been an amazing GM for the Boston Pride and was instrumental in the team’s success over the past two years. We will all miss her but wish her all the best in her move to the NHL.”
Pilch is the second Pride front office member to depart the organization this year, after former Team President Hayley Moore left for a role as President of Hockey Operations in the American Hockey League. The Pride will announce a new General Manager before the start of the 2021-2022 season.
