That’s the mindset. Three games to the final and during media availability McKenna Brand laid the plan out perfectly, “Anything is possible.” Referring to the playoffs and Pride’s chances, Brand and her teammates know one thing; they’re still the team to beat for the Isobel Cup. With the playoffs only days away, the Boston Pride’s season is in the past with sights set on Lady Isobel. It’s clear to Paul Mara and his team that they are capable of winning another Isobel Cup. Mara noted that when the team is 100% focused and 100% dedicated they’re “unstoppable.” There is no better place to be focused and dedicated than in the playoffs.

Last season, once focused the Pride turned on the jets and brought home Lady Isobel after defeating Toronto in the opening round, and Minnesota in the final. Both Jillian Dempset and McKenna Brand noted the similarities to last year’s team. It’s a ship the team has been on before, and they’re hoping for repeat results. Everyone on the roster believes they’re capable of winning. Not only that, they’re excited to be the underdogs. With their backs against the walls, Boston needs to pull out every stop to win. With a talented veteran roster, the Pride have the means to execute effective hockey offensively and defensively.

Buffalo, Boston’s first opponent, believes they’re the underdogs as well. Taking in the mindset to be winners and get the right bounces to a championship. With that in mind, they want to beat Boston badly and have the talent to do so. To say the least, it’s as Captain Jillian Dempsey put it they’re going to, “find out what we’re made of.” And in make or break season, it’s looking to be an Isobel Cup. All eyes are back on Boston for the 2022 Isobel Cup, but the Pride aren’t reaching out for it this time. They’re defending it.

Let the games begin.
